Last month you had a holiday overseas where you stayed with some 

friends. They have just sent you

some photos of your holiday. Write a letter to your friends. In your letter

 thank them for the photos and for the holiday

 explain why you didn’t write earlier
 invite them to come and stay with you

Dear Jewel and Nazim

I hope my letter finds you both well. I can’t express how much I enjoyed my time with you
guys and would like to thank you for the remarkable holiday in your city and for the lovely
photos that you sent me yesterday.

The photos arrived in this morning by post. They reminded me what a great time I had
spent with you during my last holiday. You really were fantastic host and I couldn’t have
asked for better guides to show me around.

Sorry, it has taken me so long to write back and thank you. Almost as soon as I landed back
in my home, my mother became sick. Since then we have been running around looking
after her and getting cares shorted out. She seems to be improving now and hopefully we
will back to normal soon.

Next month we’ll be celebrating our 5 th wedding anniversary and we would be delighted if
you could come over to celebrate with us. It’ll be chance for you to meet the rest of the
family and see a bit of Bangladesh. Of course you must stay with us. There’s plenty of room
and we’ll pick you up at the airport. I really hope you can make it.
