Stede Bonnet was born in Aminens, in the North of France.

Being possessed of a curious disposition

since childhood, he joined the Gendarmerie Nationale as soon as he turned 18. He dedicated himself to
his profession and was quickly promoted to Special Detective.

An investigation into the disappearance of the children of several wealthy families led him into the path
of a Night Stalker and of the Rippers. Together they destroyed the creature, but not in time to save the
children. Knowing the world was not ready to see what lies between the shadows, he buried the truth.
He joined the Rippers and vowed to use the investigative resources at his disposal to ferret out the
creatures that preyed on the innocent.

For the last year Bonnet has been tracking a serial killer. At first, it appeared to be just another murder
investigation, with one unusual quality, the victim was found holding four aces as from a deck of cards.
Several months later another body was found, several towns away, again holding four aces. When the
third body was found Bonnet discovered another pattern, cabal activity increased in each town shortly
after the murder.

Most recently a body was discovered in Falmouth, England, again with four aces in hand. Scotland
Yard reached out and Bonnet has been tasked with assisting in their investigation. While eager to
pursue any lead on the case, Bonnet is less convinced that the English will be anything but a hindrance.
He has made contact with the Falmouth lodge and arranged to meet with its head, Simon Green, who is
meeting him at the train station. From there he hopes to continue his investigation before the local
authorities arrive to assist.
