Group Assignment

A group of four or five students will choose a company to write on one to two management
issues or challenges faced by that company. From the theories acquired from this course,
give your group’s recommendations to this company for solving those issues or challenges.
The input for the assignment must be based on direct interviews of senior managers of that
company.

Requirement of content:

1. Describe the issues or challenges faced by the company, including company profile.
2. Your own evaluation of the issues, linked the issues with management tasks.
Explaining why the current solutions do not work.
3. Give recommendation based on the theoretical perspectives from class.

Individual Assignment

A student is required to interview one manager (in charge of at least 3 staff) to analyze 17
roles of a manager (according to Minzberg's classification): identify the actual roles that a
manager is acting, and his or her difficulties in acting those roles.
