Democratic Practices

The democratic practices in our country should be more beneficial to

us but due to how the people of power and government works, we are unable
to find easier solutions to our multitude of economic and political problems.
Some democratic laws, however, are on the brink of being removed such as
the Freedom of Information Act which was being abolished as some countries
like the UK have put some restrictions on internet information (especially
regarding memes) and since our country tend to follow what most 1st world
countries' laws, we might have the same event in the future. These laws are
laws that protect our right to vote, speak, and many more. They are laws that
allows us to have an opinion and decision even among the many political
figures, thus, practices should be preserved and protected.
Undemocratic Practices
These are practices that affect society and government in a lot of ways
some good, but mostly harmful. These practices include corruption, martial
law, and any other laws that restrict our freedom. "Freedom" is a core part of
Democracy so to take away the right to speech (in many communist
countries) and right to choose (in most dictatorship cases) are against
democracy. Although these were common trends in the country from the past,
they were eventually overshadowed by corruption and poverty, which are
main problems of most 3rd world countries today. Gender inequality and
racism are not as big as other problems nowadays though Philippines has
been considered one of the friendliest and more carefree people in the world.
Undemocratic practices are still a huge problem in the country but there are
already a few ways we could deal with them to prevent any further damage to
our government and society.
