REPORT WRITING GUIDELINES

Lab Work / Practicum / Experiment

AE2202 Instrumentation, Measurement and Experiment

Here is the guidelines for writing lab work report for lecture AE2202 Instrumentation,
Measurement and Experiment. The font should be Times New Roman 12pt with 1.5 spaces
paragraph, and the margin settings should be 4cm left, 3cm top, right and bottom.

The report contains the following things described below:

1. Module Objectives
This will contain the objective(s) of the corresponding module
2. Basic Theory
Basic theory related to the lab work topic explained concisely.
3. Experiment Procedure
Experiment procedure contains the steps done in the lab work explained systematically and
comprehensively. Include figures if needed.
4. Results and Data Processing
This part explains about data presentation and processing from the obtained result. Data
can be presented in forms of table with the title, columns or rows name, and the unit used
for every parameters presented. Example:

If data presentation is done by using graphs, then the information of graph title, axis names
and unit is needed. Example:

Significant figures used should be enough by using 2 numbers behind decimal sign.
Example: Pi ~ 3.14159265359 should be written as 3.14.
5. Analysis
This part contains the discussion of the previous section, regarding the data obtained and
processed.
6. Conclusions and Suggestions
Conclusions part answers the module objectives. Suggestions part contains suggestions
related to the current lab work done for future implementations.
7. Reference
Written by following proper reference writing guidelines.
8. Appendix
Contains lab work worksheet and anything that is considered needed to be attached.
