Personal Leadership Statement

I would want to be involved in student government because I feel it is an amazing

platform and opportunity to develop a more unified school through things such as school

dances, school activities, and synergies. From my past experience in ASB, I have enjoyed

planning events and synergies to develop a positive and light school culture. I have also

enjoyed planning these events to form new bonds and connections not only with our own

grade but other grades as well. I feel it is my duty in ASB to help in any way I can, whether

it be through fundraising, coming to every event , and voicing not only my voice but other

voices in our grade when we have class discussions. I take ASB very seriously and

everything I have learned from it has been useful and I would love to learn more and do

more for our school.

From my experience in ASB and Link Crew I have learned effective communication

skills. Through my experience, I have learned to be more outspoken, better at public

speaking, and being an active listener. I would also love to use a creative mindset when

planning for events and dances and bring about ideas and props that could potentially be

used. I understand that to be in this class I would need the commitment to show up everyday

and to be flexible with others and the committees. I believe I have the responsibility to

aspire to be the best leader I can be and to make STEM a more friendly and loving

environment. As I would be a senior, I believe I have developed myself well over the course

of my highschool years. I understand the negative connotations that come with this school
and I’ve learned to be more understanding and compassionate for the kids here. It shouldn’t

be a mentally draining experience but rather a useful and time worthy one. I would love to

establish a deeper connection with the younger grades and guide them as it is hard to adapt

and feel accepted into this school. I want to be a representative for my class because I

understand all of the hardships that come from the beginning of high school to near the end.

I understand because I have personally been through it, even having to take a break from

ASB and isolating myself to ponder if my life choices could coincide with my mental

health. I have been through that lonely, painstaking stage of life and I want to prevent

people in any way I can from being in that place and if they are in it, I want to get them out

of that toxic headspace. I want to teach there is more to experience, more to learn, and more

to grow from. After much needed self reflection and experience, I am ready to come back

into a leadership position and take full initiative of my life.
