ALTERNATIVES SOLUTIONS FOR THE KEY ISSUES FACED BY STARBUCKS

Improvised Inconvenience Application

The solutions for the first issues is to improve the application that have been
installed. The purpose to improvised the system because Starbucks’s competitor such as
McDonald has already upgrade their system by giving customer to order food in online
application and McDonald will deliver the food after they received the order. Starbucks need
to catch up with the competitors by improvise their online application and give opportunity to
their loyalty customer to order in other way, rather than ordering from the counter service.
These application will help customer to choose menu in online ordering such as what type of
coffee, snack, food beverage and topping for the drinks including the prices. In addition, it
can also benefit the customer by making them to rate the service after deliver the order. The
purpose of this solutions will bring benefit to the customer, they can easily order coffee or
food in the online application wherever they are and what only they need to is waiting for the
delivery came to them.

Provide Delivery of Foodservice

The solutions for the second issues faced by Starbucks is to provide delivery service
to the customer since online ordering has been growing rapidly in foodservice markets all
over the world. Once the Starbucks received the order, they will immediately making the
order and deliver right to customer door based on the information given. The delivery will
start from 11 morning until 11 night. The delivery of food and drinks will be around in the city
only. By doing this way, Starbucks will have chance to gain more ordering from customer in
online application since nowadays many competitors provide delivery service to their
customer and Starbucks can get this opportunity by delivering their product to Starbucks’s
customer. As for the economy, it will include a boost in employment, income in the
community, increases of tax income and loyal customer base for business. It is because the
Starbucks provide both goods and services and job to people. Moreover, Starbucks create
job opportunities because they need people to produce and sell their products and services
to the customer. As for the Starbucks itself, their income in the business can increase by
improved the online application and delivery service. It is because online ordering and
delivery services can attract customer to become closer with Starbucks’s product. By doing
this way, Starbucks can also gain more customer and their loyalty customer will still maintain
for their business.
Providing the Promoters

The solution for the third issue is provide a promoters to help customer in difficulty to
choose menu in the Starbucks. Usually customer who come to Starbucks always take a long
time to choose their drinks because they are not able to choose which drinks is suit with their
taste. Moreover, it will lead to conflict between the customers because the next customer
need to wait more time while the first customer is choosing the menu since that is their first
timer to Starbucks. By providing the promoters, it can help the customer to solve their
problem by answering to questions and understanding customer needs and worries. For
example, the promoter can introduce the customer about their new product by giving them
the tester of the drinks. So that customer can easily choose which the taster drinks is
suitable for them. In addition, based on our observations, many customers who are first timer
come to the Starbucks have reluctant to choose the options in the menu since the menu
cannot be understand by them and at last they had to pay expensive prices because choose
the wrong drinks. Hence, the promoters is important to promote the product to the customers
and they will be able to teach customer on how to make an order based on the menu in the
Starbucks. Other than that, the promoters are responsible for attracting customer about
Starbucks’s product and helping the company reach revenue targets. An excellent promoters
can attract customer easily and give them awareness about the Starbucks since they are
excellent in communication, listening skills, selling abilities and observation spirit.

Partnership or Alliances with Other Firms

The solution for the fourth issues are be partnership or alliances with other firms. For
example, Starbucks can collaborate with Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) and 7-Eleven in
order to promote their product. Therefore, usually in cinemas the watcher are not allow to
bring other drinks into the cinemas except the drinks that GSC provided. Moreover,
customer who come to 7-Eleven can easily making their favorite drinks by using self-serving
machines. Starbucks will have the chance to promote their product by collaborate with GSC
and 7-Eleven, thus they can take this opportunity for the customer to choose Starbucks.
Furthermore, Starbucks’s customer who love coffee can easily get their drinks at the GSC
and 7-Eleven. In future, Starbucks can gain more profit by doing this collaboration because
there is tendency that customer will purchase their products due to there are only three
options whether the customer will purchase Starbucks’s product or GSC product or 7-
Eleven’s product. They can also persuade the customer to choose Starbucks as the best
brand in the business world by suggest specific product purchases to meet customer’s need.
By doing this way, customers are more confident to order and purchase products in the
Starbucks.
