ACTIVITY 3

1. What are the learning theories and principles applied in the use and design of learning lessons
with technology? Give example scenarios?

1. Dale’s Cone of Experience – this is more about sensory channels that is used in engaging
the students who can where they can relate since it covers their past or experiences.
Example:
The methods to be used in the cone of experience are consist of different media such as
videos, pictures, and audio. These methods would help students to retain information
but it is better when students to the real thing or experience just like operating a
computer, or in the class, students will do a video documentary where they are applying
their learning through media.

2. TPACK MODEL- it is useful because it explains the different types of knowledge involving
how technology will be use in integrating knowledge to students.

Examples:
In integrating lessons for the students, the teacher will not only base the content of the
lesson in the book but he will also go on to different sources of information involving
technology such as the google, online dictionaries.

When the teacher will divide the students into group then the students are going to
collaborate using technology such as using messenger for discussion or other forms of
communication in flexible learning.

The teacher will be using creative presentations using videos, pictures, and PowerPoint
presentation to integrate learning effectively.

3. The ASSURE MODEL – this is a model for instructional system or guideline that teachers
can use to develop lesson plans which integrate the use of technology and media.

Example:
For analyzing the learners, you can use questionnaires or survey forms with the use of
google forms.

2. What are the learning principles and theories that is applied in technology driven teaching-
learning models? How important is these principles are in flexible learning?
1. RAT Model – this allows teachers to self-assess their integration of technology in the
classroom. According to RAT model, digital technology can be used as replacement,
amplification, or transformation in the classroom. I think these model in important in
flexible learning because we are in an online class where we cannot really see if the students
are learning. This model would help the teacher if the “Microsoft Teams” for example as our
medium in today’s education is effective or not.
2. TPACK MODEL – this model shows the relationship of technology to the content and
pedagogy of the subject. This is important in flexible learning because when a teacher are
able to understand these concepts, he or she are able to explain the lesson with the use of
technology that would help to elevate the learning of the students.

3. What can you say about this article?

The article talks about what is true about the Model of Dale which is The Cone of Experience
wherein it discusses that the percentage rate of the retention seemed unrealistic and not
effective as of today. For me, he hast the point where in when a student is learning, he or she
will do the task in the 90 percent of retention since it will make him or her to understand the
lesson more. What I can say in this article is that we have different learning styles where this
may be applied or not. Maybe the time it was theorize is not that relevant today since we now
have different technologies to help us easily understand and engage in learning.
