Long term conflicts, terrorism, and sectarian tension

The Security Council of the United Nations is currently addressing an issue about

the rampant conflicts, terrorism, and sectarian tensions in the Persian Gulf. Citizens in

Yemen are the ones who are greatly affected by this because of famine, increased

death rate, and loss of livelihood. This issue does not only affect citizens in Yemen but

also the whole country especially economically. The common reason as to why this

affects a country’s economy is because of the direct destruction of property worth

billions of dollars and it also takes the lives of thousands of workers who are needed to

produce services and products. Second reason is that it increases the uncertainty in the

markets. Once war arises, investors and entrepreneurs will hesitate to do business in

that area because of the thought of not being secured and the instability of markets. In

order to control the situation, the Security Council of United nations emphasized the

need for an effective and logical approach to collective security in order for each and

every country to live in harmony and to be able to maintain its economic stability.
