1. Project Introduction:
The Red Sea development is a mega project along the Red Sea in the West of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
(The Red Sea Project). The strategic objective of the Project is to transform Umluj and Al Wajh regions into a
unique luxury tourist destination with a focus on the ecology and wellness for local and international visitors.
Metito Saudi limited has been awarded by the Red Sea development company to design, manufacture, supply,
construction, erection, testing and commission of 12,500 m3/d SWRO desalination plant comprising
of Seawater Intake, Media Filter, Seawater Reverse Osmosis and Brine disposal.
Metito Saudi Limited will maintain overall responsibility for the logistic plan throughout the construction and
erection phase of the plant.
2. Project Scope:
Project Scope of work is based on EPC contract to execute desalination plant of capacity 12,500 M3/day that
shall be executed in two phases likewise 1st phase - 3,000 M 3/d and 2nd phase - 12,500 M3/d.
Metito Scope of work included detailed civil construction & erection, engineering, manufacture, inspection,
supply installation, testing & commissioning, start up and performance test and will be responsible for design
& execution of electromechanical scope of work to deliver final product water output of 12,500 M 3/d.
3. MOS Purpose:
The purpose of this document is to lay down the systematic procedures for the various activities required for
FORM WORKS to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the approved shop drawings and
contract specification. Works shall be carried out in compliance with the drawings, project specifications,
and materials without injuries.
4. MOS Scope:
This Work Method Statement refer to various work procedures contained within project control documents ,
which explains and cover the installation of formwork.

6. Responsibilities:
Project Manager is responsible for overall project execution, quality and safety. Adopt a leading role
with respect to Contractor’s quality and safety procedures. The PM is responsible for the overall
implementation of this method statement. The Project Manager shall ensure that the key personnel
are well aware of the specifications and method statement.
Safety Engineer shall be responsible for safe working environment & conditions. Coordinate with
Site Engineer to identify potential hazards before works and advice methods of safe working from
new developments.
Surveyor shall be responsible for setting out for levels, layout, and lines & establish top levels.
Ensuring setting out books are properly maintained and filed when completed. To coordinate with
the CONSULTANT surveyor in determining coordinates, levels, and limits.
QA/QC Engineer shall be responsible for ensuring that execution of works are complying with
approved method statement; specifications, approved shop drawings.
Site Engineer shall ensure that all works are carried out according to approved shop drawings. He
shall direct the surveyor for the setting out lines & levels in concurrence from the Construction
Manager/Senior Civil Engineer.
MEP Coordinator / Engineer shall be responsible for proper execution of MEP works involved
before, during and after the works.
7. Resources:
The following equipment will be required for the execution of the Excavation works, whereby the number of
equipment required will be determined upon progress and upon schedule requirements:

3. Work Procedure:
3.1 All material delivered to site shall be visually inspected for straightness, finish and defects prior to use.
3.2 Setting out shall be done by the surveyor prior to proceeding with formworks.
3.3 Each type of form work for the raft, column, beam and slab shall be erected as per approved shop
drawings.

3.4 Prior to use formwork and supporting timber shall be checked for damage, surface condition and
warping.
3.5 Material shall be protected as necessary from the elements during transportation and storage.
3.6 Design calculation for slab system shall be performed and submitted to consultant for approval.
3.7 Certified and well trained manpower shall be deployed for all types of formwork erection.
3.8 Inspection shall be done by the supplier / third party prior to proceeding.
3.9 Care shall be taken to ensure that any formwork system is installed and supported correctly when
applied on site conditions may vary. Visual inspection shall be carried out by the construction
manager use for each element to ensure support provided is adequate for actual site condition. Every
leg of scaffolding should be checked for tightness, rigidity and proper bracing both ways.
3.10 Ensure that erected formwork is watertight to avoid any slurry leakage.
3.11 Ensure that sleeves and openings for all the MEP services are provided as per approved shop
drawings.
3.12 Form work shall be checked for the alignment, verticality and leveling prior to proceeding with
concrete pouring.
3.13 Inspection shall be raised for the CONSULTANT inspection and approvals before proceeding to
concrete pouring.
3.14 Striking of form work shall be in accordance with the specification tion of cast in place concrete

A dedicated Health and Safety team will be deployed to the site under the supervision of a Health and

which to work. To this end, every effort will be made and positive action taken at all times, by all
employees, to ensure healthy and safe working conditions at all company project work site and
facilities.
The general philosophy is each person on site is responsible for safe working practice
