1)Coal Mill Grinding Section

Ball Mill
1. Check the mill internals, Diaphragm plates, Tensioning of belts, Shell line
bolts etc.,
2. Check the grinding media grading as per recommended filling. Initially mill to
be start only 50% of grinding media only. We have to slowly increase the
quantity
3. Diaphragm flow control gate, centre screen to be inspected
4. Man hole doors to be closed
5. Check the mill inlet and outlet truninon, Bearing condition, Oil flow on the
shaft, scraper arrangement, Initially drain the oil, Fill new oil. Bearing
temperature RTD fixing and commissioning. Lube oil pump pressure setting
up 3 bar. Return line Inspection, Lube oil system to be commissioned for
trunion bearings.
6. Mill girth gear inspection, Root clearance, Back lash, contact to be checked,
Lubrication system to be commissioned. Proper guarding is required for kiln
girth gear and pinion.

Drive System :

1. Pinion bearings to be inspected, oil to be filled


2. RTD of bearings to be kept on line
3. Main gear box oil level and Lube oil system to be commissioned
4. Main motor empty motor to be take train run with required direction (LRS
etc.,) Empty motor Amp to be noted)
5. Auxiliary motor trial empty, Direction to be checked. Auxiliary gear box oil
level to be checked
6. Now mill is ready for Auxiliary drive running
7. Please ensure sonophone system
8. Mill all LPB, Emergency stop buttons to be commissioned
9. Mill inlet chute should not foul with mill inlet rotation past
10. Ensure mill pinion bearing, plummer block bolts, base bolts, gear box,
base bolts, motor base, Torsion shaft bags bolts tightening.
11. Ensure the main motor input coupling guard/output torsion shaft
coupling guard. Auxiliary coupling guard etc.,
12. Ensure the girth gear lubrication system to be commissioned

Mill Circuit Air Slides:

1. Ensure all the air slides boxes side doors, air gaps, Inlet and outlet
connections to be checked
2. Air slide blowers to be take train run. Check the rotation, vibration, motor
temperature Amps etc.,
3. Pipe line connection to Air slide, Air chamber to be ensured
4. Check the blower discharge valve should be open condition
5. Before starting the system. Initially one hour before warm up is required.
Keep the blower in running condition.
6. Blower filter to be cleaned

Dynamic Separator
1. Ensure the separator bolts, connecting chutes motor and gear box frame
bolts tightening etc.,
2. Check the empty motor trial, Amps, direction etc.,
3. Ensure gear box oil filling, coupling input and output guards fixing etc.,
4. Please ensure the bottom bearings RTD fixing etc.,
5. Ensure the grease pipe line for bottom bearing etc
6. Please check the separator impeller direction of rotation
7. If it is VFD slowly start with 50 RPM to 800 RPM as per drawing required RPM
(output)
8. Check the double flap valve free or not.
