KELENIC…Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations
Jerry Dipoto announced that outfielder Jarred Kelenic underwent an MRI exam...the exam revealed
a strain of the adductor muscle in his left knee...the injury occurred in Friday’s game at Chicago-AL...
Kelenic started the game in right field, reached on an infield error in the 2nd, flied out to center field
in the 3rd and was removed for a defensive replacement in the bottom of the inning.
HANCOCK, WILLIAMSON JOIN CAMP…the Mariners added a pair of pitching prospects to
their Major League camp as non-roster invitees...right-hander Emerson Hancock and left-hander
Brandon Williamson will not appear in Cactus League games...Hancock was the Mariners 1st
round (6th overall) selection in the 2020 MLB First-Year Player draft...Williamson was taken by
Seattle in the 2nd round (59th overall) in the 2019 MLB First-Year Player draft.
TRIPLE PLAY…the Mariners turned a 5-2-3-2 triple play in Friday’s 2-2 tie at Chicago-AL...Jose
Abreu of the White Sox hit a grounder to Seattle third baseman Donovan Walton, who fired it to
catcher Brian O’Keefe, who transferred it to first baseman Jantzen Witte, who fired it back to
O’Keefe...the triple play took place in the bottom of the 5th inning.
BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK…on Thursday vs. Colorado, the Mariners hit 3 consecutive home runs
in the 3rd inning...Mitch Haniger got the party started with a blast down the left field line, a 3-run
homer...Kyle Seager followed it up with a home run that mirrored Haniger’s blast, sending it well
beyond the fence near the right field foul pole...Ty France finished it off with a solo shot to left field,
giving the Mariners a 5-0 lead...the homers came from the 2-3-4 spots in the batting order.
PROSPECTING…the Mariners are ranked by Baseball America as having the 2nd-best farm system

blew a save, allowing a 2-run homer to Casey Golden before striking out
final 3 batters in 9-9 tie.

• Personal – Paul Stanton Sewald graduated from Bishop Gorman (NV)
High School where he helped lead his team to three consecutive Ne-
