INTERNSHIP POLICY
2020-21

TYPES OF INTERNSHIPS:
Intenships around the year are categorized as:

1. Full time
2. Part time
3. Virtual

Full time internships are permissible ONLY in the months of May,June and July
and/ or in December. However, students can apply for part time/virtual
internships around the year.
Students are eligible to take up only ONE ful time internship at a point of time
the placement cell. However there is NO restriction on the number of
through
part time and virtual internships.

ATEGORIZATION OF COMPANIES
applicable to full time internships only)

The companies are categoized into 3 groups - Dream Internship programme, Tier 1
and Tier 2. The categorization is based on the pay package offered, the company's
reputation and its association with the College.

DREAM INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

In this programme, companies include those:

Offering a stipend equal to or more than Rs.40,000 (Rupees Forty Thousand).

ND/OR

Offering a Pre-Placement Offer at the end of the internship period.

ND/OR

Prestigious organizations which share a long-term relationship with the college.


IMPORTANT: f a student rejects the offer post accepting it, it will lead to blacklisting
from internship opportunity. Further, it shall also invoke the following 2 disciplinary
actions in their placement (final year):
1. The student will only be allowed to sit for one super blue company of her
choice.
2. She will be eligible to receive only 1 placement offer (instead of 2)

TIER 1companies include those:


Offering a stipend equal to or more than Rs 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand)

TIER 2 companies include those that are not classified as Dream/Tier 1.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

IF-A student is recruited by a Dream Internship company, she will NOT be


permitted to apply to ANY further company visiting campus

IF- A student is recruited by a Tier 1 company, she is then eligible to receive


one more offer by a Dream Internship company. She is NOT eligible to apply to
any other Tier 1 company.

IF- A student is recruited by a Tier 2 company, she is then eligible to receive


one more offer by a Tier 1/ Dream Internship company. She is NOT eligible to
apply to any other Tier 2 company.

If a student accepts an internship offer (either through an e-mail acceptance o


through physically signing the offer acceptance letter), she will NOT be
permitted to apply to ANY further company visiting campus.

Ifa student has been shortlisted/selected by a company, say a Tier 2 Company


X, but has not received an internship offer yet, she is permitted to sit for
internships at other companies. During this time period, if she receives an offer
by another Tier 1 or Tier 2 company, she will not be permitted to appear for the
final round of selection for the previous company X.
Whether a company carries out the internship process ON or OFF campus, the
LSR Internship Policy applies.

Selected students must accept an internship offer within 2 weeks or as


specified by the company. Non-acceptance of the same within the stipulated
timeframe would automatically amount to rejection of the offer.

Rejection of a full time internship offer post accepting it, can lead to a reduction
in the number of placement offers one is eligible to receive in their final year
(from 2 to 1).

BLACKLISTING POLICY
If a student, acts/conducts herself in an undesirable/unethical manner that
jeopardizes the College's reputation as well as its future association with its
corporate partners, she will necessarily invoke blacklisting from the Placement

cell. This restricts herfrom applyingfor any further internships through the
placement cell
3 offences will lead to blacklisting from internship Opportunities and invoke
disciplinary action.
Undesirable/unethical conduct which will result in 1 offence includes (however,
is not limited to):

Failure to conformto the recruitment process prescribed by the company.


Absence from interview rounds of the companies that one signed up for.
Absence from workshops that one signed up for. Students will strictly not

be allowed to attend if they do not sign up.

Delayed rejection of an accepted offer, unless under extremely


unavoidable dircumstances.
l f a student gets selected for an internship X and do not wish to continue
the process for any other applied internship Y, it is mandatory to inform this
decision before the process of Y begins.
Not informing the recruiting company and the Placement Cell of the
rejection decision.

Photocopying/taking pictures of any test material


Non-adherence to the internship policy
Mentioning false information on your CV

Note: In case of unforeseen situations, the final call of the placement cell
union and the faculty advisors will be absolute and binding.

STUDENT CONSENT
lunderstand the rules and regulations of the Placement Cell as mentioned
in the Internship Policy and I agree to abide by them, including any that
may be added later in the year, 2020-2021. I understand that if my
behaviour/conduct presents the college in a poor light, not only shall I be
blacklisted from internships, but disciplinary action will be taken against
me by the college.
