People Management Essentials

Welcome! The People Management Essentials certification course is open to all

managers and/or employees who are interested in developing management skills as
part of their career development. The overall learning objective is to equip you with
the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful manager, including: the
importance of effective communication, the ongoing process of performance
management, how to identify and solve conflict, and a review of ethical behavior
and workplace harassment. In order to earn the certificate, all participants must:

1. Review the modules and complete the quizzes

2. Participate in the module activities (which include virtual discussions)
3. Submit the final activity along with a screenshot to your local HR representative

 Module 1: Essential People Management Skills
People management is not simple. This module covers the basics of managing direct
reports and teams. You will learn:

 Tactics for motivating colleagues and direct reports.

 The ingredients for building a strong team.
 Coaching and mentoring practices that support growth with and among team
members.

Please note that there is an activity that must be completed to earn your certifificate
in People Management Essentials.
