Student Name: Haley Pedersen

Date: 1/22/21
Portfolio Artifact Description: Dream Home Blueprint
What you learned: This project was the most challenging of the 3 for me. I really wanted to nail
my floorplan and I was trying to overcomplicate it at first. Once I walked away for a few hours,
took a few deep breaths, and began again with a much easier concept idea, I crushed it, I think!
I learned that less is sometimes more, and I also learned that sometimes it is okay to walk away
and start over. Overall, it was a fun project, and it really helped to look at other floorplans
online to get an idea of different ideas you may like.
ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for STUDENTS (NETS)•S Addressed: I would
say it addresses standard 3 and 4 because they would use digital tools to construct artifacts and
are problem solving because it is their own design they are making. I think you could even throw
concept 7, collaborating with others, and make it a group project because it was a harder
project to carry out.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: This project would be nice to use as a group
project, I think. It would teach good teamwork and patience. I also think it would be good to
spark dual creativity. I think it would be a nice challenge for students but end in a good reward.
Maybe have them design a dream jungle gym or something of that sort, since I do not think a
house will hold little kids attention like that.
