Jinan Virtual Winter Camp 2021 (1 March to 9 March)

Our Chinese partner, Jinan University (The Chinese partner of Confucius


Institute at Rhodes University), will be offering an online camp due to the
Covid-19 pandemic. Anyone (including all staff members and students)
interested in Chinese language learning and Chinese culture is welcome to
join the camp. There will be language courses and cultural activities, such as
Chinese paper cutting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, Chinese martial
arts etc. Participants can log in to browse and download the course content if
you do not have time for online sessions. And it is FREE.

It is a wonderful opportunity for you to gain a good understanding of China


and Chinese culture, and expand your knowledge of Chinese.

2. APPLICATION CRITERIA
Non-Chinese, with a strong interest in Chinese language learning and
Chinese culture.
 
3. APPLICATION TIME
Registration is open from today. Please register as soon as possible.
Registration Deadline: February 28, 2021
 
4. CAMP CATEGORY
Theme 1 - Contemporary China: China’s experience in reform and opening
up the economy and its implications for global economic recovery: a case
study of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
Main courses: Communicative Chinese, HSK Training course, Contemporary
China, Chinese Economy, Chinese paper cutting, Chinese Calligraphy,
Chinese painting, Chinese Kungfu
 
Theme 2 - Lingnan Culture: Online Lectures and Cultural Experience About
One of the Greatest Chinese Culture
Main courses: Communicative Chinese, Daily Cantonese, Classical Chinese
poetry recitation, Chinese Film Appreciation, Lingnan folklore and culture,
Lingnan Kungfu, Cantonese opera appreciation, Chinese Costume Culture
(Hanfu), Virtual tour of the City of Guangzhou, Local Delicacies of Guangzhou

The two themes have the same course schedule. Please register for only one
of the themes according to your interests.
Each theme consists of recorded and live classes. If you have a clash with the
live classes, you can catch up with the replay. The timetable will be
announced through the DingTalk group later.
 
5. APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1: Register on the Chinese Bridge website by clicking on one of the
following registration links and filling in all your personal information. Please
prepare your email address, passport or ID in advance.

Enter the Winter Camp registration link, choose “register a new account”.
 
Step 2: Fill in the registration form from Jinan University online.

Step 3: Please download DingTalk (DingTalk is a commonly used
communication and collaboration platform in China), activate it and join the

It’s important because the latest notices will be announced through the
