A) Spanish colonial Period
- The Spanish colonial Period of the Philippines began when explorer Ferdinand Magellan
came to the Islands in 1521 and claimed it as a colony for the Spanish Empire. The period lasted
until the Philippine Revolution in 1898. According to the Pew Research Center, more than 80
percent of filipinos were Catholic in 2010.

B) American period and post Commonwealth


-The period of American colonialization of the Philippines lasted 48 years, from cession of the
Philippines to the U.S. by Spain in 1898 to U.S. recognition of Philippine independence in
1946. ... America then held the Philippines until granting full independence on July 4, 1946. And
The Commonwealth of the Philippines (Spanish: Commonwealth de Filipinas; Tagalog:
Komonwelt ng Pilipinas or Malasariling Pamahalaan ng Pilipinas was the administrative body that
governed the Philippines from 1935 to 1946, aside from a period of exile in the Second World
War from 1942 to 1945 when Japan occupied the country. It replaced the Insular Government, a
United States territorial government, and was established by the Tydings–McDuffie Act. The
Commonwealth was designed as a transitional administration in preparation for the country's full
achievement of independence. Its foreign affairs remained managed by the United States.

C) Fifth Republic Corazon Aquino’s presidency

- Maria Corazon Cojuangco Aquino born Maria Corazon Sumulong Cojuangco; January
25, 1933 – August 1, 2009), popularly known as Cory Aquino, was a Filipino politician
who served as the 11th President of the Philippines, becoming the first woman to hold
that office. Corazon Aquino was the most prominent figure of the 1986 People Power
Revolution, which ended the 20-year rule of President Ferdinand Marcos. She was
named Time magazine's Woman of the Year in 1986. Prior to this, she had not held any
elective office.

D) Marcos Era and Martial law

- Ferdinand Marcos who served as the 10th President of the Philippines from 1965 to
1986. Espousing an ideology of "constitutional authoritarianism"under the New Society
Movement, he ruled as a dictator under martial law from 1972 until 1981,and kept most of
his martial law powers until he was deposed in 1986. One of the most controversial
leaders of the 20th century, Marcos' rule was infamous for its corruption,extravagance,
and brutality. And Martial law is the temporary imposition of direct military control of
normal civil functions or suspension of civil law by a government, especially in response
to a temporary emergency where civil forces are overwhelmed, or in an occupied
territory.

E) President Fidel Ramos


- President Fidel Ramos was born in March 18, 1928. Popular known as FVR and Eddie,
is a retired Filipino general and politician who served as the 12th president of the Philippines
from 1992 to 1998.

F) President Joseph Strada’s term


- The Presidency of Joseph Estrada, also known as the Estrada Administration in the
Philippines spanned for 31 months from June 30, 1998 to January 20, 2001. Estrada
reached the pinnacle of his political career when he was elected President of the
Republic in the May 11, 1998 national elections. With almost 11 million Filipinos writing
his name on the ballot, his margin of victory was the biggest ever registered in Philippine
electoral history.

G) Science and Technology during President Gloria M. Arroyo’s Term.


- President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo give a fitting recognition to the stead fast. To the
Science and thecnology sector, the Philippine scientific community held “Alay Pasasalamat” 25
june 2010 at the heroes Hall, Malacañan.
The “Alay Pasasalamat”, organized by the National Academy of Science And technology, is a
Tribute to the President by the Filipino scientist, science scholar, member of the science
community and the academy, Technology adoptors, and official and staff of the Department Of
science and Technology.

H) President Benigno C. Aquino III


- Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III, also known as “PNoy” or “NoyNoy” , is a Filipino
politician who served as the 15th president of the Philippines from 2010 Until 2016. Aquino is a
fourth generation politician and was the chairman of the liberal Party from 2010 to 2016.
