VI. RATIONALE/JUSTIFICATION:
As COVID-19 strikes the Philippine nation, people rise together to counter it.
At the forefront of the fight against the virus are our healthcare workers, security team
manning the checkpoints and various frontliners.
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new
strain of coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak
began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. On 30 January 2020, the Philippine
Department of Health reported the first case of COVID-19 in the country with a 38-
year-old female Chinese national. On 7 March, the first local transmission of COVID-
19 was confirmed. WHO is working closely with the Department of Health in
responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In Barangay Banlag, there are several health workers who voluntarily render
primary health care services. Other non-medical personnel who emanated from
different unit are the Barangay Tanod, Purok leaders, Barangay Officials and various
frontliners who continue the basic services to satisfy the essential needs of the peole
under the Enhanced Community Quarantine through crewing the checkpoints in
Crossing streets of Lower Cabuloan, Sitio Monsanto, Sitio Buco, and Sitio Bantal.
To keep the bayanihan spirit, the organizer will be initiating a feeding program
for frontliners of Barangay Banlag. This project aims to recognize the heroic and
invaluable contributions of our frontliners of Barangay Banlag who bravely and
unselfishly risk their lives and health by being at the forefront of the effort to address
the public health emergency.

. VII. OBJECTIVES:
To recognize the heroic and invaluable contributions by providing foods to all
frontliners of Barangay Banlag.

VIII. IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS:

The designer undergoes the following steps in constructing the project. The
following steps are:
1. Identifying the basic needs of the beneficiaries.
2. Exploring the possible ways to help their needs.
3. Allocating the budget of the project work from the Stakeholder.

4. Sending the letter request to the Barangay Captain to allow the conduct of
the feeding program.
5. Listing the names of frontliners of Barangay Banlag.
6. Conducting the feeding activity.

IX. BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS:

The Feeding Program for frontliners are sponsored by the stakeholders.

. X. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:

The project involves feeding activity for Barangay Banlag, including the
Barangay Tanod, Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Barangay Officials, Purok leaders
and various frontliners.

. IX. RECOMMENDATION
The undersigned would like to recommend for the approval of the
aforementioned project proposal.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
“2020 FEEDING PROGRAM FOR FRONTLINERS OF BARANGAY BANLAG”
April 29, 2020

The president has issued Proclamation No. 922 dated 8 March 2020 declaring a State
of Public Health Emergency due to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). As a measure to
limit the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines, lockdowns,
officially characterized as "community quarantines" by the government, of varying strictness
was imposed in numerous parts of the Philippines. The enhanced community quarantine, is the
strictest of such measures.
Valencia City was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) based on the
Executive Order No. 21 s. 2020. All barangays are mandated to implement the preventive

measures, including wearing of face masks, physical distancing, disinfection, curfew time,
liquor ban, prohibition of mass gathering and among others. The different local unit, including
the Barangay Tanod, Purok leaders, Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Officials and various
frontliners were manning the checkpoints in Crossing streets of Lower Cabuloan, Sitio
Monsanto, Sitio Buco, and Sitio Bantal to implement the provisions. .
The organizer initiated a feeding activity for the frontliners of Barangay Banlag to
keep the bayanihan spirit and to recognize the heroic and invaluable contributions of our
frontliners of Barangay Banlag who bravely and unselfishly risk their lives and health by
being at the forefront of the effort to address the public health emergency.

Prior to the conduct of feeding activity, the organizer underwent the following
procedures to make a feeding activity possible. First, she identified the basic needs of the
frontliners by interviewing them and then explored the possible ways to help their needs.
Second, she sent the letter request to the Barangay Captain to allow the conduct of the feeding
program. Third, she allocated the budget of the feeding activity through asking donations from
close friends, co-teachers, officials, relatives and other stakeholders who are willing to help.
Fourth, she listed the names of frontliners of Barangay Banlag. And lastly, she conducted the
feeding activity for the frontliners who are assigned in the barangay Hall and Checkpoints.
Upon reaching the site, the organizer was welcomed by the frontliners who were all
excited to be given the meal during the feeding activity. The organizer happily shared the
hearty meal to the 40 beneficiaries who took part the activity.
The organizer extends the gratitude to all the frontliners who risk their lives every time
they handle a patient or keep essential services going while people stay home to comply with
the movement control order (MCO) to stop the spread of Covid-19.
