SELF -EXPRESSION EXERCISES

1. ART

Art is a highly diverse range of human activities engaged in creating visual,

auditory, or performed artifacts, artworks that express a person’s imaginative
or technical skill, and are intended to be appreciated for their beauty or
emotional power. It is anything we see in our environment and anything we do
every day.

2. ARTISAN

An artisan is someone that works with their hands to create unique, functional
and/or decorative items using traditional techniques. Artisans are masters of
their craft and create products such as clothes, toys, tools or furnishings.
These artisanal techniques are learned through decades of tribal knowledge
and passed down within families and communities. Many artisans depend on
resources from their nearby surroundings to create these items.

3. ART AND EXPERIENCE

Art and experience are interrelated to each other. Art is a dynamic human
experience that involves both the artist and the audience. When the audience
encounters art, they are connecting with the artist's experiences and
transforming the meaning of the art with their own.

4. WORK OF ART

something that is considered to have aesthetic value, something that is

beautiful, intriguing, interesting, creative or extremely well done.

5. COMMENT ON THE STATEMENT OF PABLO PICASSO (1881-1972) “ART

IS A LIE THAT MAKES US REALIZE THE TRUTH.”

Pablo Picasso is a famous artist with a large body of art. He is a cubist who
does mostly portraiture depicting not only the persons features, but the person
in the portrait’s inner emotions. The interpenetration of “art is a lie that makes
us realize the truth” is that it presents the reality as it is without the influence
of human emotions. Art shows the truth that no one wants to tell, but everyone
knows.
