Reflection 5
This week, I updated my Weebly page, worked on booking my interviews, and did my
fifth research log. The only work that I did on my Weebly page this week was publishing my
research log and reflection from last week. I did not research any information for the pamphlet
this week because my main concern was trying to book the interviews. I had messaged the
marketing director from Shriners on Friday and waited until Monday because most places do not
answer emails on weekends. A different marketing person emailed me back on Tuesday morning
saying that she has a provider that would be happy to have an interview with me. We have yet to
set a time and date, but it will most likely be some time after 3:00 p.m. on a Thursday or Friday
because those are the days and times she suggested to me. For now, I am communicating with
the marketing person and not directly with the interviewee. I initially intended to contact a doctor
from Queen’s Medical Center for my second contact, but I thought it would be better to
interview someone with a more family aspect rather than medical because my research logs deal
with the family side. My initial contact to replace the Queen’s contact did not get back to me, so
Mrs. Nourrie gave me the contact of her sister’s friend that has an eight year old some with
muscular dystrophy. She asked if we could do the interview via email, but I asked if we could do
it over Zoom and keep it anonymous, and I am awaiting her response. The research log took
quite some time to do because the documentary I watched was an hour long. It really gives me a
new perspective on those living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and makes me want to
change my points to prove to positive things. Next week, I need to talk to Crishelle about the
materials to make the stuffed animals and when we should meet to exchange that. I also need to
work on my Weebly more, especially revising the Canva proposal because I think some of the
