Present Habits, Repeated Actions and States

A. We use the present simple to talk about present habits, facts, timetables, and with
state verbs (often with adverbs and phrases to express frequency)
a. Adverbs with the main verb
i. I usually eat a lot of vegetables.
ii. I often feel sleepy at work.
b. Adverbs with the be verb
i. I am normally relaxed on Saturdays.
c. Other time phrases
i. I go to bed before midnight most of the time.
ii. Most of the time I go to bed before midnight.

B. We use the present continuous with always to talk about annoying or repetitive
habits or repeated actions
a. Examples:
i. He’s always wearing his clothes inside out.  he does this
often/regularly, not once
ii. He’s always leaving his clothes in the laundry inside out.
iii. My friend is always talking with her mouth full.

C. We use the future simple to talk about repeated or typical behaviour in the present
(not often with state verbs)
a. Examples:
i. I’ll usually go out to eat at a cheap restaurant with friends.  we can
use an adverb to show it’s a repeated/typical behaviour
ii. After school, I’ll normally have lunch // I’ll always take the tram home //
I’ll sometimes take a nap.
iii. I’ll think, I’ll know  a little strange
