LESSON

Hand Spa Tools, Supplies and Equipment

Each tool, supply and equipment is designed for a particular work or purpose,
so choosing the correct one will lessen the amount of effort and time required to get
an activity or job done right.

Tools are also known as implement. It is used for particular activity and carry
out certain functions. They are hand held, permanent and durable.

Mixing bowl – a rounded cup like


container used for mixing fluids,
cosmetics and aroma oils for hand and
foot spa.

Pumice stone – a volcanic rock, used


to remove dead skin, and hard calluses.

Supplies are materials and cosmetics that are consumed, also called as
consumables, needed to replace from time to time.

Alcohol – an organic compound used as


sanitizer.
Antiseptic solution – referred as
disinfectant, applied to the skin, to prevent
multiplication of microorganism.

Body scrub – a cosmetic applied to exfoliate


and remove dead skin making it soft and
smooth.

Cling wrap – a thin plastic film used for


securing the paraffin wax during a hand spa.

First Aid Kit - a set of materials and tools


used for giving emergency treatment

Liquid Soap – used for cleaning the hand,


finger and nails
Lotion – applied to the skin leaving it soft
and moisturized.

Massage oil – used to lubricate the skin


while performing massage to avoid friction.

Mittens – are made up of fabric that covers


the entire hands to increase heat retention
when used with paraffin wax

Paraffin wax – made on wax that melts at a


temperature. It has a therapeutic and
cosmetic benefits. Used in spas and a salon
leaving the skin smooth and soft.

Hand towel – used to dry the hands and


fingernails
Equipment are items needed for a particular purpose which are permanent and
durable.

Hand Spa machine – an


electrically operated machine
that helps soothe pain on the
joints, muscles and arthritis

Paraffin wax machine – an


electrically operated machine
that hold and heat paraffin wax
making it in liquid form.

Plastic basin – use in bathing


and washing the hands.

Trolley – it holds the supplies


for easy transporting.
