 Why people smoke

Smoking in recent years has become a fatal problem in our society. To solve this problem, it is
necessary to know why people feel the tempt to start smoking . Sadly, there are several reasons
why people smoke. Firstly, most teenagers start smoking out of sheer curiosity or peer pressure
when they see their friends, elder brothers smoking. And within a short time, they get addicted
to it. Secondly, in a lot of families where the parents themselves are smokers, the children can
very easily be provoked to start smoking too. Lack of moral values is another reason why
people can be tempted to start smoking.

Moreover, lack of law enforcement when it comes to prevent smoking and extreme availability
of tabaco to both youngers and adults worsens the situation further. On top of that, there is a
mindset that a lot of people hold that smoking tabaco makes you look cool. Also, in media and
advertising, smoking can be seen so often that it may very easily influence other people to start
smoking as well. There are a lot of people who may start smoking to get away from the stress
for a little while because they think that it will help them to feel at peace. But instead, research
has shown that smoking increases tension, anxiety and stress rather than helping to reduce it.
These are some of the main reasons why people may start smoking without thinking about how
easily they can get addicted to it and ruin their lives. We should all be aware of these reasons
and make sure not to step into the trap of this everlasting curse that is smoking. We should
raise awareness among teenagers.

Bad Effects of Smoking

Smoking has become one of the most troublesome problems in our society. It has become so
common nowadays that people often forget just how deadly smoking can be to both smokers
and the people around them. Smoking has countless health and environmental risks and can
harm extremely important organs of the body. It can have detrimental effects on peoples’
financial lives. First of all, smoking severely effects people physically. Smoking can cause heart
and lungs diseases, cancer, stroke, diabetes, chronic pulmonary diseases, Emphysema, bronchitis
; among many other deadly diseases. In general, it weakens peoples’ immune system and leave
them vulnerable to all kinds of health risks. Another risk that smoking has is that a lot of times,
due to carelessness, it can create a fire and destroy valuable things of people, or even take
lives. Smoking has disastrous effects on the environment. Many people carelessly throw away
the cigarette end wherever they want and thus, contribute to polluting the environment.
Moreover, the smoke that is created during smoking pollutes the air. But these are not all.
Smoking creates problems for the family members of the smokers as well. Many families go
broke trying to afford the cost of this deadly curse. And if someone falls ill due to smoking’s
health risks, it is often extremely hard to pay for his/her treatment since it is usually awfully
expensive. Furthermore, the people around smokers are not safe from these health risks since
they also inhale the smoke cigarettes create. Even though people smoke to relieve stress,
research has shown that long time smoking can make people feel irritable, low, and even lead
to anxiety and depression. Besides the smell of cigarette is disgusting. This way, smoking can
destroy lives. Younger people often skip school and do illegal activities to afford the price of
smoking and thus, ruin their future with their own hands and destroy the peace of a society.
Also, smoking is a waste of money as nothing good comes with it. These are some of the most
horrifying effects of smoking and there are hundreds of more reasons that can be told. We, as a
society, should raise awareness about these adverse effects to effectively lessen the number of
smokers among us. It is crucial to save lives and prosper.
