1 Organisational Structure
The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for health and safety in the
Council however, as with any area of management the allocation of
responsibilities is crucial and the management of health and safety is no
exception. Health and safety responsibilities and authority are delegated
throughout the Council to all employees and these are outlined in the
Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities which follow.

REMEMBER
Everyone is responsible for Health and Safety and Everyone has Health
and Safety Responsibilities

The levels of Health and Safety responsibility within the Council can be
reflected as shown.
