Physical looks always catches the attention of the people we have been encountering

through our daily lives. There is always a saying that “First Impression last” and that is the
reason why I am spending my money and time to get the best fit that will suit my taste and
identity that I want to express and to be look on by others. It’s been an art for me to express my
own way of fashion uniquely and expressively.

As a Filipino, a student, and a young individual who’s curious and concern about the
status and situation of art here in my beloved country, Philippines. I believed that I am obliged to
take an action, make an impact and contribute to Philippines Art, by exploring and studying
those art fields that needs to draw an attention because of its foreseeable future of being gone
and extinct. In my own visualization together with research and provided data I found out that
this art field which is clothe weaving located at Cordillera is being imitate by local textile factory
which is a big disgrace for the Igorot people because each lines on the cloth that they weave
contains an information about their tradition and because of our lack of knowledge about their
culture and identity. We didn’t tend to notice that unexpectedly we are being vulgar towards their
identity.

The action plan that I want to implement is giving the right knowledge to the people who
patronize their product and stop the making of fake fabric. In this Action plan of mine, I am
helping the Igorot weavers in first, Preserving their culture and identity by spreading right
amount of information to the people for them to know what it is behind those clothe weaving and
second is, Spreading awareness about the rampant selling of fake fabric that clearly disrespect
their tradition. In implementing of this kind of action plan I can clearly say I’m making a big
contribution in Philippine Art in terms of helping the art field that is in danger to be on tract again
and be a key contributor in the industry of Philippine Art. In this situation it will be a win-win
situation for the both Ifugao people and Philippine Art Industry, in the essence of Ifugao people
making profits and showcasing their culture and Identity and for the Philippine Art paving the
way for its Unique Art that will raise the flag of the Philippine.

Every culture, identity and tradition has their story, beliefs and myth that they are
passing through generations of their bloods and through thousands of year. In this aspect it is
good to say that their culture and tradition is a piece of Philippine Art in thousands of years and
they manage to preserve their culture and tradition by passing it to the next generation through
storytelling and handful tutorial. In this situation their culture and them, the Igorot people
deserved to be respected as one of the first generation Filipino and one of the biggest
contributor in the history of the Philippine Art.
