Requirements
The Plane was built and tested with X-Plane 10.51. Compatibility with earlier or later versions of X-Plane cannot be guaranteed.

General Description
The L-29 is a military trainer aircraft. It was manufactured by Aero Vodochody. It made its first flight in 1959 and was produced from 1963 to 1974. Ca. 3500
aircraft were built. The aircraft was used mainly in the air forces of the Warsaw Pact. Today the plane is still used by civilian operators for show and race
purposes.

There are four versions of the plane. You can select them via “Open aircraft” from the menu and afterwards selecting the 29 or 29R file in the folder.

The package contains ten liveries, equal for the four versions. You can switch them (also directly in flight) by using the following menu option in X-Plane:

Technical Data (of the original L-29, X-Plane version values may vary slightly)
This package contains two versions of the L-29, one standard version and one race version. The race version is using a stronger engine. The main
difference between the versions are the nose section and the used engine.

that must not be exceeded
6 Mach-meter Shows your mach number and the limit marked red
7 Airspeed indicator Showing your airspeed in knots

When using the standard version of the plane, you will now get indications in kilometers per hour

9 Radar altimeter Shows your height above ground in meters
10 Artificial Horizon Pitch displayed on blue/ brown, Bank displayed by airplane symbol, slip indicator included

Pitch indication can be adjusted

11 Min. Height light Lights up as soon as descending below selected radio altimeter height (no Stabilizer light included in
this version, both lights show height warning)
12 Speed brake button on control stick Press to fully extend the speed brakes as in the real plane, press again to retract

- there are also click zones on the top left/ right of the stick to adjust the aileron trim (which is not that
useful with a standard/ no external load but can be done. In reality this can be done on the ground
only)

You could now load different payloads to the left/ right side and may then use the aileron trim
13 Bank and slip indicator This is no turn and slip indicator, it shows bank and slip

Rear Cockpit
Front and back cockpit are modeled for the L-29. You can reach the rear cockpit by moving backwards in the 3d-cockpit. There are keys in the X-Plane
options assigned for that purpose. You could also assign those movements to certain joystick buttons. You can find the options by following using the
following menu:

If you click a joystick button while on the following screen, the number of the button will be displayed and you can choose any action that you want to
assign to this button:
You could e.g. assign the forward and backward movement within the cockpit:

In tab “Keys” you can search for the command and the key that is assigned to it:

The layout in the rear cockpit is different but functionality and instrumentation are similar to the front cockpit.

There is a new functionality in X-Plane (10.10) now that allows you to store certain views. You press CTRL + a numpad number key and afterwards you can
jump back to this position again by pressing the number key on the numpad.

Weapons
Basic weapons have been implemented, using the related X-Plane functionality.
You can load those weapons by:

– going to „Weight and Fuel“ in the Aircraft menu:

– you go to Ordnance

– Click on one of the weapon stations (Button “Ready..” in the picture above)
– select a load from your L-29/ weapons folder

(C) ML 2018 MLAeroDG L-29

– do the same for the other station
– if you dropped/ used your load, you can quickly reload it by pressing the green button

(C) ML 2018 MLAeroDG L-29

Checklists and procedures
If you want to simulate the whole startup procedure you will need to create a situation in X-Plane, having all systems/ switches set to off, and afterwards
load this situation again. You can do both using the following menu options:

Engine/ System Startup After Startup

– brakes check – NAV light on
– set parking brake – Strobe light on
– flight controls check working as expected – Inverter on
