Vessel Logistics Manager

Responsibilities

1. Must have excellent access, direct contact and communication with Indonesia’s various ship owner to
negotiate chartering contract with suitable terms and payment in limited time.
2. Must have excellent experience, arrangement, access and contact with port authorities and port
managers (KSOP, PELINDO) and other local private jetty authorities.
3. Identify local shipping and logistic support agent at any place when loading is happening. Build trust and
good relationship with all parties related.
4. Liaise with Onshore and Offshore operations teams for crew mobilization.
5. Liaise with shipping agents, port authorities, project and site personnel to ensure that crew / supply
boat turn-around was achieved in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
6. Coach, mentor and motivate a team of coordinators to ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental and
Quality standards were adhered to per Company policies
7. Meet with shipping agents and ensure that the coordination team is always kept abreast of ever-
changing local laws
8. Improve coordination practices to minimize services downtime.
9. Manage all ship’s and sailing documents and clearance required for smooth operation of the barge
without any delays.
10. Have knowledge on Domestic and International formalities for vessel, material, characteristics and
personnel movements.
11. Co-ordinate with Project teams and Operations/Installation Manager to ensure timely scheduling of all
contracted Vessels, personnel and materials movements
12. Create SOP’s and improve the existing ones, with close follow up on the implementation in order to
strengthen the systematic control.
13. Create a good monitoring systems and daily report on movement of vessel and coordinate with other
parties related to make sure that the actual sailing schedule is within planned schedule.
14. Manage/ Monitor the movement of shipments in and out of the port in accordance with the
organizational policy and procedure, and complying with relevant local and national laws
15. Ensure and check invoicing and billing of Shipping agents in line with agreement and with proper
supporting documents in limited time, especially when the shipping schedule is very tight.
16. Prepare budget calculation and time planning for a project being scheduled, analyse the logistics
operation expense based on cost efficiency, and evaluate the real against original plan to create Plan of
action on improving the systems.
17. Control and manage fuel consumption of the vessel and other direct cost involved in vessel operation
namely fresh water cost, premium cost, other logistics cost, etc and make sure that all cost is within the
budget.
18. Must have performance report of each vessel in a single dashboard containing, Total Project Cost, Total
Project Timing, Total Evaluation on cost and timing and analysis on system improvement.
19. Manage logistics team to do their job in an efficient and productive way.
