TAGUA NUT JEWELRY

In the city of Rocafuerte on the coasts of Ecuador, where the seed of tagua, a kind of palm is used by a group of
Artisans of this community to make handicrafts and sculptures. The jewelries made of this seed seems so elegant,
as we can see there are some beautiful pieces or figures that local artisants can create with this typical material.
Tagua is called as “vegetable ivory”; which it is very similar to the ivory that people take from elephants or
walruses, the Tagua has been used for centuries to make all kinds of objects and crafts.
The best part of tagua is that no plant or animal gets hurt, so that people who work in this art in a certain way,
they can help to protect the environment by creating thses wonderful pieces of jewelry that people use to wear.
For example colorful necklaces, earrings and souvenirs which are absolutely wonderful and many times these
pieces of art look great with some type of clothing or as a decoration . Finally the most importan thing is that
