Formative assessments
Both of these are the third formative assessment. The topic of the presentation and essay is
about biography, autobiography, diary, and journal. I had to do research about these topics, then
create a presentation and write an essay. The purpose of this is to educate grade 8 students
about how to create a biography booklet for the upcoming CWW.

Unit Reflection
In this unit I learnt about how to do research, write essays, and create presentations. According
to the statement of inquiry, “Connecting to different text forms helps to make purposeful
exchanges and interactions with others” I have learnt how to research to synthesize the
information into an essay and present the information through a presentation in class . In this
unit I found information in many different types of text forms that I have to evaluate, so my
research is credible. Then I added my own ideas and opinions into the essay. So I could
exchange my ideas through a presentation. I enjoyed making the presentation because there
isn’t much to write but I had to use my creativity to present the information clearly and say what I
want to say. What challenged me the most was synthesizing the information together to write an
essay. I have to improve on cooperating more of my explanation and opinion into the essay.
