Prelim Question for LPU ROTC
1. What is the importance of Chain of Command in the AFP Organization?

Basically, the Chain of command is like the hierarchy of respect. It is somewhat a line of
authority or power and responsibility that goes with orders that are given along within
different military units. So, these orders are basically passed down by the chain of
command from the higher ranked personnel up until to the lower ranked personnel so
that the orders are passed and to be received by those who will implement the said
orders.

What makes the chain of command important is because it is expected that those
who have the higher authority will have to take charge and make such decisions
confidently even between life and death. The fact that it will be the “whoever has the
authority” may have earned the respect and as well as the responsibility to discipline
their lower ranked personnel and for the change.

2. What is the importance of discipline in the military organization?

Military without discipline is not military at all. It is like letting an individual run
towards war with a gun and just screaming around killing people without following
orders. In short, it could mess up a thing to another. Military discipline is highly essential
for not only to an individual but also to each of the members that is in the  military. This
is because it would help them build their character, grow with proper thinking, on the
spot and decision-making skills, carry out proper orders and lastly contribute to a
cohesive team. Without military discipline, members of military divisions, units and
platoons likely would not be able to function as one team during missions, exercises,
and training. Discipline is vital in each of the military’s line of work which means that
those orders that are carried out by anyone and everyone is confident that they will not
be let down by either of their teammates or military personnel.
