Hello Professor and class,

I chose option 1. How would you improve the survey itself to create the best snapshot of
student impressions of this or any Chamberlain University Online course?
Our textbook explains that sociologists use different research methods to approach a particular problem
(Kendall, 2018, p.24). For this course, I believe that the best method that would help students answer
questions to improve the quality of this or any other program would be through surveys based on
questionnaires. Kendall (2018) also explains that survey is the data that is collected by interviews,
computers, or telephone that contains a series of items (p.26). Researchers rely on surveys to examine
different issues. For this reason, it is important to examine the information collected by college students
so that organizations could promote the needs of every student. Statistics show that college students
are a substantial segment of the U.S. population, with about 20 million students enrolled in 2019
(Lederer, 2019). Chamberlain University is doing a great job in providing web-based surveys, which
facilitate students to answer questions in an accurate manner. However, in an era of survey fatigue and
low response rates, I believe that offering incentives to students for participating on surveys would
improve student’s rates based on legitimate answers. Some of this incentive could be extra credits
points for a class, gift cards, or rewards that can be redeem in college products.
