“Comfort”

Reasons why the Word of God says that the Second Coming of Christ is of Great Comfort

1. Completion of our Salvation (Mark 13:13; Romans 8:23)

1.1. Those who are dead in Christ will be resurrected. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; 1 Corinthians 15:26)
1.2. Those who are alive will be caught up in the air to meet Jesus and they will be changed. (1
Thessalonians 4:17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
1.3. The church will not experience the wrath of God (Great Tribulation). (Matthew 24:21;
Revelations 6:11-16; 2 Thessalonians 1:8)
Blessed hope – No way of escape except rapture.
Greek word origin: harpazo – to snatch; to carried away

2. Saints are to be rewarded. (Revelations 22:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

3. Saints are to be glorified. (1 John 3:3; Romans 8:17)

Colossians 1:27 – Christ is our hope in glory.
Doxa (Greek word origin of glory) – the splendor and bliss of heaven.
– resplendent beauty or magnificence.
Resplendent (adjective) – shining brilliantly;
gleaming; splendid.
Splendor (noun) – great brightness; brilliant light or
luster

4. Saints are to be with Christ forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:17; John 12:26; Revelations 7:15-17;
Revelations 21:4-5)
Conclusion:
Since this blessed hope is promised to the church being led by His apostles, we must be steadfast
in the faith doing His will till Christ comes for He who promised is faithful.
