Experience (NYSC) Trainee Engineer, February – December 2018
While thoroughly assigned various duties to acquaint myself of the facilities and their operations, I served as
a trainee process engineer in the chemistry, boiler, and turbine departments of the plant, working effectively
with various teams and unit heads to deliver daily monitoring, operational, and maintenance jobs. In the
course of my contract period, quality delivery and good engineering practice ensured a steady power
generation with no production down time. My daily duties covered:
 Teacher and tour guide for basic and high school excursion groups.
 Maintenance and operation of water tube boilers and steam turbines for assigned units.
 Troubleshooting of other plant facilities and auxiliaries including heat exchangers, pumps, compressors,
valves, etc., associated with dry steam production for spinning the turbines.
 Quality assurance of process and utility water, process oils, etc.
