Abstract
The inner plenum is modelled and analyzed using CFD to make efficient use of fuel for obtaining optimum thrust. It has
been experimentally verified that optimal condition depends on various factors and the significant ones influencing
performance are A/F ratio and geometry of intake plenum design. In this paper analysis has been carried out on intake
plenum which is modelled and flow behaviour routines coded and analyzed in CFD platform. It has been shown that the
variation of mass flow of air in intake runners degrades the performance of engine which can be improved by properly
designing inner plenum based on mass flow rates. © EuroJournals Publishing, Inc. 2011.
