Historically, character education was the responsibility of
parents and the greater community as well as educators.
In recent decades, educators have assumed more
responsibility for character education of today’s youth by
adopting curricula that integrate lessons on ethics and
community partnership.
Different countries and institutions have created a variety
of programs that make moral education a focal point in
the classroom and beyond. Today, the Department of
Education considers character education an invaluable
component of the young generation’s schooling.
