the insights that you gained or express your views on the experiences and growth upon
watching the film. For you to be guided and focused let us have this theme “ Is globalization
good or not”. The activity is worth 25 points and is credited to your quiz, a major component
(40%) of your grade. STRICTLY NO CHEATING/COPYING FROM THE INTERNET OR FROM YOUR
CLASSMATES.

Commonly when we talk about globalization, it always comes to our mind the positive
contribution being bought to us. But the question is, does globalization good or bad? Others
might say globalization is good due to the changes being bought to them like technology and
other modernized matters, but on the other hand, other people might say that globalization is
bad because it makes the country poorer. Globalization is a broad topic, and yet it has a lot of
definitions. With regards to the video, globalization for me is a process allowing the economy of
a country to grow.

Based on the video presented by Johan Norberg, Globalization is Good, it shows the
impact of globalization on the country that embraced it and to the nation that did not. By
setting out on a journey to the three countries Taiwan, Vietnam, and Kenya to see how
globalization leads to wealth and democracy also to prove that anti-globalization is ignorant
and dangerously wrong. After watching the short film, I realized that globalization really
changes the world, the economy, and the living status of humans. While watching the film, I can
say in the very first place that globalization carries a positive impact on us. But then I was
hooked up when I finish the video. I might agree that globalization contributes to the growth of
the economy, but then it hid negative impacts on humans. With regards to the negative effects,
I cannot directly say that it is bad nor it is good because there are also positives to it.
Globalization is a very messy topic due to the different impacts being bought. I might think that
all countries around the world are already globalized and we are all equal. But my perception is
wrong. We are all equal because we are all human but then, there are some earthy things that
we do not have like wealth making us unequal proving the country of Kenya. They shut the door
to globalization, which is a result of corruption, hunger, and lack of property rights. This one
impacts the country which did not embrace globalization. Globalization is not fair for me. What
makes unfair here is that for those who have capital they grow prosperously, while on the other
hand for those who do not have capital they will remain poor. Lack of capitalisms is also
another problem for that developing country.
Globalization also carries positive impacts on our living. It improves the machinery in the
past. In other words, it enhances modern technology, making it faster and more productive.
Also, it increases the employment opportunity, wages and reduces child labor. Vietnamese
believe that Nike provides better working conditions and many times the wages they would
have. In the case of Vietnam, they did not fully embrace globalization but instead, they looked
at the decent point of view by funding the future career of their employees.

In general, globalization carries opportunities both in a developed and developing

country but its hid circumstances towards humans and nature. To avoid questioning ourselves
does it good or bad? We must think first before embracing modernity because every decision
we make instantly there was an exchange that we might intolerable.
