TRANSMITTAL INFORMATION
The original was issued May 14, 2015. Revision bars in the left margin identify changes.
1. PLANNING INFORMATION
A. Effectivity
B. Description
This Service Bulletin introduces new outer combustion chamber liner P/N
2480M42G02 and new inner combustion chamber liner P/N 2480M43G02 to be
used with the combustion chamber assembly P/N 2480M46G01.
This Service Bulletin also provides rework instructions to change the affected
outer and inner combustion chamber liner multihole size and pattern by welding
the existing holes, creating new small holes, and remarking the liners as outer
combustion chamber liner P/N 2480M42G02 and inner combustion chamber liner
P/N 2480M43G02.
C. Compliance
Category 7
D. Concurrent Requirements
None.
E. Reason
(1) Objective:
(2) Condition:
The old inner combustion chamber liner P/N 2480M43G01 and outer
combustion chamber liner P/N 2480M42G01 have larger cooling holes
covering a smaller amount of area.
(3) Cause:
Not applicable.
(4) Improvement:
The combustion chamber assembly P/N 2480M46G01, when used with new
inner combustion chamber liner P/N 2480M43G02 and new outer combustion
chamber liner P/N 2480M42G02, features a larger amount of smaller cooling
holes located such that the total cooling flow remains unchanged, but it is
spread over a wider area. This reduces coating surface and parent metal
temperatures and increases time on wing (TOW).
(5) Substantiation:
F. Approval
The technical content of this Service Bulletin is approved by the FAA and under the
Authority of DOA No. EASA.21J.086.
G. Manpower
No additional man-hours are required to comply with this Service Bulletin when the
outer and inner combustion chamber liners are replaced. Around 300 man-hours
are required if the outer and inner combustion chamber liners are reworked.
