Brake Pedal - Calibrate

SMCS - 1439-524

The brake pedal calibrations involve submodes c10 and submode c11 on tracked pavers.

The brake pedal calibrations involve submodes c06 and submode c07 on wheeled pavers.

Note: When any calibration for the brake pedal is needed, perform the full up and the full down
calibration procedures.

1. Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

2. Enter calibration mode 2 on the ECM display. To do so, press and hold the ECM Mode switch
until "- 2 -" is showing in the display area. Submode c01 should be displayed which will
confirm that the calibration mode has been entered.

3. Enter submode c10 (c06 on wheeled pavers). To do so, press and hold the display mode switch
in the increment position until c10 (c06) is displayed.

4. Ensure that the brake pedal is in the fully upward position.

5. Store the value of the signal currently being sent from the brake pedal sensor. In order to store
the value, press and hold the display mode switch in the CLEAR/STORE position. While the
switch is pressed, the red indicator (not accepted) or the amber indicator (accepted) will briefly
flash. Observe the status of these indicator's while the switch is in the CLEAR/STORE position.
Release the display mode switch.

If the amber indicator flashed (accepted), perform the next calibration.

If the red indicator flashed (not accepted), check that the brake pedal is in the fully upward position.
Refer to the "PWM Sensor Calibrations Are Not Accepted " module in this section of the manual.
Repeat Step 5. If the red indicator is flashing again or if a diagnostic code CID 014 FMI F00 or CID
014 FMI F01 is active, replace the brake pedal PWM sensor.

When the c10 (c06) full up calibration has been performed and accepted, perform the following c11
(c07) full down calibration procedure.

1. Enter submode c11 (c07 on wheeled pavers) (brake pedal down). In order to enter c11 (c07),
press and hold the display mode switch in the increment position until "c11" ("c07") is
displayed.

2. Ensure that the brake pedal is fully depressed.

If the amber indicator flashed. The brake pedal calibrations are now complete. Change to a different
submode or return the ECM to normal mode 0. To return to normal mode, press and hold the ECM
mode switch. Release the switch when "- 0 -" is showing on the display.

If the red indicator flashed. The calibration has not been accepted. Ensure that the brake pedal is fully
depressed. Refer to the "PWM Sensor Calibrations Are Not Accepted " module in this section of the
manual. Repeat Step 3. If the red indicator is flashing again or if a CID 014 FMI F00 or CID 014 FMI
F01 is active, replace the brake pedal PWM sensor.
