What to Do at Your First Crawfish Broil

If you are a crawfish lover, give this article a brief read to get a piece of advice to handle your first
crawfish boil.

It made me stunned when I saw many people gathering around a lifeless body on a tabletop and tearing
its body parts.

No, I am not talking about a scene from any novel, but it comes from a food street where people were
enjoying their crawfish boil. I was there to enjoy my crawfish for the first time. I started doing the same
dipped potato in the spicy sauce that has been cooked for hours. Believe me, it was too hot to handle,
but the flavour in it has satisfied the taste buds that I can't resist to have more.

Now I am left with the eyeballs and all, so I asked my friend to peel one for me; meanwhile, I was
learning the technique. He handed me a small chunk, and it was full of juices and a perfect blend of
spices. Above all, I don't have to chew it as the meat is tender. I asked another this time my friend gave
me the whole piece to do it myself. I took a deep breath and started doing the same. Soon my fingers
were also covered with juices and spices.

In the South, eating Crawfish boils during seasons is their tradition. People have it with the tenderly soft
potatoes, corn, and garlic as their side course. Sometimes they are served with different veggies.

If you are a Northern and planning to enjoy the boil crawfish for the first time must readout my tips to
survive and enjoy your crawfish meal.

 Wear stretchable pants as when you start eating you want to have more and more. So give
yourself some room to expand.
 Wear dark clothes because juices coming from the crawfish can stain your light wearings.
 Don't try to put on a plastic bib you will look like a fish out of water.
 If you've long hair, tie them; otherwise, they will be dipped into the juices.
 If you want to enjoy every single bite, remove your watches and rings before you start to avoid
the mess on your fineries.
 In the South they don't refresh water between boil. A complete blend of spices can make every
boil spicier. So, to avoid lip burns, keep water handy.
 If you haven't listened to the Zydeco music, be prepared to hear this blend of jazz, blues, and
rhythms.
 If you want to enjoy the taste more, choose the largest crawfish with more meat, with a curved
tail. Don't eat the crawfish with a straight tail because it must be dead before boiling, which will
disaster your taste.
 If you want to have it like a pro break your crawfish from the natural middle line. If you try to
break it from elsewhere, you will end up with juices covering you.
 If you want to enjoy more suck in the juices from the openings. If you are a pro and a serious
crawfish lover, you can have the juices from its head.
 Remove the shell one by one while eating the tail part. If you are lucky, you can pull your meat
piece from the remaining shell.
 Like any other living creature, crawfish also have openings for toxins, and that tube lies inside
their tail. It is usually removed along with the shell but to be on the safe side check for this tube,
if you find it, gently remove it and wash your hands before eating again.
 While eating crawfish, you don't have to follow table manners (as they can't be implemented) so
get ready to hear some funny noises.
 To clean all the debris from your hands, clean your hands with lemon because, after a boil,
simple water and soap can't remove them properly.
 If you don't want others let know that you have had crawfish in your lunch take a deep shower;
otherwise you will smell for the whole day.
