EXTINGUISH/EVACUATE (RACE) SEMINAR

Theme: Fire prevention and safety precautions

Coverage: Barangay

Rationale: conducting R.A.C.E. seminar will create a better understanding of fire prevention
and how to protect yourself from the hazards of fire. In addition to that, having seminars will
help us mitigate the risks of creating fire and casualties in case there will be an accidental fire in
your area.

Objectives:

 Provide an opportunity for the community to know the causes, and prevention of fire as
well as the treatment for the burn wounds.
 To promote safety precautions in the households to mitigate the risks of fire
 To encourage the community to take steps in fire prevention
 To create possible system for evacuation of the community
 To teach the community the proper usage of fire safety equipment

Project description:

The project will be a 5-day seminar with 4hrs time every session. The guest speakers will be
from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

DAY 1:
1:30 – 2:00 pm – Registration for the seminar

2:00 – 2:30 pm – Opening ceremony

- Opening prayer
- National Anthem
- Opening Remarks
- Ice breaker

2:30 – 3:00 pm – Break time

3:30 – 4:30 pm – Introduction of the Speaker

- Discussion of Basic Fire safety measures and codes (Do’s and Don’ts during
fire)

4:30 – 5:00 pm – demonstration of fire safety measures (delegates)

DAY 2:

1:30 – 2:00 pm – registration for delegates

2:00 – 3:30 pm – fire evacuation instructions and rescue operation (safe routes and steps when
there is fire inside the building or house)

3:30 – 4:00 pm – break

4:00 – 5:00 pm – fire drill

DAY 3:
1:30 – 2:00 pm – registration for delegates

2:00 – 3:00 pm – Discussion and demonstration of Fire safety equipment

3:00 – 3:30 pm – break

3:30 – 5:00 pm – demonstration and handling of fire safety equipment (delegates)

DAY 4:
1:30 – 2:00 pm – registration for delegates

2:00 – 3:00 pm – Discussion of degree burns and its treatment

3:00 – 3:30 pm – break

3:30 – 5:00 pm – demonstration of burn treatment (delegates)

DAY 5:
1:30 – 2:00 pm – registration for delegates

2:00 – 2:30 pm – fire safety emergency services

2:30 – 3:00 pm – break

3:00 – 3:30 – Fire safety press conference (question and answer portion)

3:30 – 4:30 pm – Giving of certificate for the speakers and closing

(giving of med kits for delegates)
Project duration: 5 days, 4 hours per session
