SAYING WHO RECEIVES THE ACTION OF THE VERB


(Supplementary Material for Beginner Module)

We say that while Personal Pronouns do things, Object Pronouns receive the action of the verb or are
affected by it. Object Pronouns are easy to recognize because they are placed directly after a verb or
preposition;

for example: She is watching him.


I am talking to you.

EXERCISE 1. Replace the underlined words by Object Pronouns.

Example: Show the book to Mary.


Show the book to her .
