NOVENA TO ST.

MONICA
SAY THIS PRAYER BEFORE EACH DAILY PRAYER, MAKING THE SIGN OF THE CROSS:
“OH GOD, COME TO MY ASSISTANCE, OH LORD MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME.”
Holy St Monica, abused wife, trouble mother and patroness of wives and mothers in pain and sorrows, you never lost
faith in God, or belief in your dignity and self-worth. With confidence, persistence and profound faith, you prayed daily for
the conversion of your husband Patritius, and your beloved son, Augustine.

DAILY PRAYER ONE St Monica, I pray for all those who suffer in abusive marriages. May they find strength to seek the help needed to
protect themselves and their children.

DAILY PRAYER TWO St Monica, I pray for all mothers whose children have left the church and the faith. This breaks a mother’s heart to
see their children without the faith that sustains them, and to see their grandchildren unbaptized. Open the hearts of their children that
the faith of our ancestors’ may take root and grow.

DAILY PRAYER THREE St Monica, I pray for all those who suffer from the addiction of alcohol or drugs, or for their spouses or children.
Help them know that this disease can only be treated when realization and responsibility becomes part of one’s life, and when God
enters into the cure.

DAILY PRAYER FOUR St Monica I pray for all those who have lost children through death because of an accident, suicide, disease or
natural disaster. The pain in their heart will never cease, and even the comfort of a spouse, other children, or family and friends can
never stop this searing grief. May they feel some of the comfort you felt in prayer and the consolation you gave to others.

DAILY PRAYER FIVE St Monica, today I pray for all widows. Holy Monica, ease their loneliness and comfort them in their grief. Increase in
them an even greater sense of faith in God, a stronger hope in the Resurrection, and a greater love of their family and friends. Help them
take consolation in My Lord Jesus Christ.

DAILY PRAYER SIX St Monica I pray for all mothers who have lost their relationship with their children. Ease their frustration and calm
their anger. Help them to understand that, like you, sometimes it can be days or even lifetimes before this kind of healing takes place.
Help these women to never lose faith in the bond of parenthood, and in the hope that God brings to all families.

DAILY PRAYER SEVEN St Monica, I pray for all troubled families. Keep them in your care and help them to be open to help in all forms
that you send into their life. When they feel the weight of all these problems, left them remember the weight of Christ’s Cross, so that
like you, they may feel the faith and strength that comes from a loving God.

DAILY PRAYER EIGHT St Monica, today I pray for all those who are divorced. Help heal the pain caused by the rupture of the marital
relationship and ease the stress of painful, raw memories of the past. Help them to move forward and continue to believe that love
comes to each of us in many different ways.

DAILY PRAYER NINE St Monica, as I pray on this final day of my novena, I thank God for your inspiration and for all the gifts that have
come to so many. Thank you, Holy Monica, for your intercession during this time of prayer in my life. I praise and thank God of Love as
you did, for the blessings that are in my life and in the eternal life to come.

SAY THIS PRAYER AFTER EACH DAILY PRAYER:

St Monica, grant me your fortitude, patience and trust in the Lord. Intercede for me, St Monica, that God may favorably hear my plea
(mention your petition here) and grant me the grace to accept his will in all things, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one forever and ever. Amen.
