NARRATIVE REPORT ON HOMEROOM

GUIDANCE IMPLEMENTATION
Grade V-Emilio Aguinaldo
S.Y. 2020-2021

The COVID-19 Pandemic has created a very large effect on the different aspects of
education. Aside from the usual teaching and learning process that undertakes on every
corners of each classroom, this pandemic has also created an impact in terms of the
domains of development of every learners.

While the Department of Education is doing its best thru its Basic Education Learning
Continuity Plan, it is very important to also give priority on the life skills development of
learners which will empower them to overcome the different challenges and adapt to the
“new normal” brought about by the current crisis.

In line with this, the Department has created Homeroom Guidance which is a
proactive program designed to equip K to 12 learners with life skills on three domains:
Academic Development, Personal and Social Development and Career Development. This
program is essential to ensure access to quality guidance and counseling services to all types
of learners.

In the case of my pupils in Grade V-Emilio Aguinaldo, we use online and modular
modalities in implementing this program. Every Thursday, we allot one hour on mentoring
and discussion of every given modules. I asked the parents of my pupils to join also during
our scheduled mentoring so that they will know how to explain the content of the module
and observe by themselves the development of their child.

Also, I discussed the Homeroom Guidance Assessment Result during our Parent-
Teacher Conference.

Our School Head, Mrs. Rosario L. Martin supervises and monitors the
implementation of this program from time to time. She also sees to it that proper

intervention for each learner is being provided. While our School Guidance Coordinator,
Mrs.Olympia R. Bautista always ensures the correct content and pedagogy of Homeroom
Guidance in our school. She conducted orientation on Homeroom Guidance at the
beginning of the school year and holds quarterly meetings with section advisers before the
implementation of each modules.

As a whole, our school is doing its best in order to be successful and sustainable in
this program. With proper implementation and compliance, surely there will be a systematic
and good result of monitoring and evaluation.
