FBWS (Front Back Warning System)

Objectives To understand main components of the FBWS in BH

To know about operating principle and condition for FBWS
Technical Training Team 1
To understand both front and
2 rear camera operation condition in BH.
FBWS (Front Back Warning System)

When revering, the driver is not only easy to find objects in the blind spots and to determine the
distance from the object. In order to provide the driver safety and convenience, the FBWS is adopted not
only warning system but also camera system in BH.
The purpose of this manual is to concentrate on the operating principle and condition for FBWS.
This system is an auxiliary device for enhancing the convenience of driving condition using warning
system sensing an object within 100cm in rear direction and 30cm in corner direction and then indicating
how close with the object when the car is driven in less than 10km/h or when the driver is parking the
car.
In addition, FBWS is equipped with front and rear camera depends on regional option. However, this
system does not exempt the driver from the duty of attention.
In this system, as limiting the sensing range of object and the visible range of area, the driver should not
trust this system thoroughly and fully pay attention to all direction.

Warning Buzzer: Warning from 1 to 3 steps according to warning scope.
FBWS Unit: Warning both rear and front obstacles. (Adapted CAN Line: 100Kbps)
Rear Camera: Transmit the reflection data to FBWS Unit.
Front Camera: Transmit the reflection data to FBWS Unit.
Band Unit: Transmit the camera reflection to AV monitor.

FBWS Overview
The Sensor operation function in FBWS contains the following functions.
(1) TX wave generation to drive the sensor.
(2) Reflected signal that was captured from Sensor delivered as RX signal
(3) Using RX signal to decide Noise
(4) If malfunction of Sensor or CAN, malfunction notified by ECM
(5) Drive Buzzer to distinguish among Distance, Sensor failure, or Reverse gear selected.
(6) Distance warning information, Sensor malfunction information and Switch input will be transmitted
by CAN Data.
(7) Camera ON/OFF, Camera position Switch input for processing signal
(8) Receives input from FBWS Switch and FBWS ON or FBWS OFF
