Fine and Cost Schedule For Speeding Violations: 55 MPH Zone 65 MPH Zone 70 MPH Zone Fine Costs Total Due
(NON-MOVING VIOLATIONS - K.S.A. 2000 Supp. 8-1560d is hereby amended to read as follows: (a)
Convictions for violating a maximum posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour or more but not exceeding 70
miles per hour, by not more than 10 miles per hour in excess of such maximum speed limit, shall not be a
part of the public record and shall not be considered by any insurance company in determining the rate
charged for any automobile liability insurance policy or whether to cancel any such policy under the
provisions of subsection (4)(c)(7) of K.S.A.40-277, and amendments thereto.)
(THE AMOUNT OF FINE IS DOUBLED FOR VIOLATIONS COMMITTED IN A
CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND SCHOOL ZONES.)
TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF YOUR FINE, LOCATE THE MPH ZONE THAT YOU WERE
TRAVELING ON, GO DOWN THAT COLUMN UNTIL YOU COME TO THE SPEED THAT YOU
WERE ACTUALLY TRAVELING, GO ACROSS TO THE FINE, COSTS AND TOTAL DUE TO
DETERMINE THE AMOUNT FOR YOUR SPEEDING VIOLATION. IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER
VIOLATION BESIDES THE SPEEDING TICKET, YOU WILL NEED TO ADD THE AMOUNT OF
THE FINE DUE FOR THAT VIOLATION. THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS
FOR ADDITIONAL VIOLATIONS WRITTEN ON THE SAME TICKET.
