ABSTRACT

This study aims to help the Senior High School Students of Arellano University

Jose Rizal High School to learn what bullying is all about specifically to those students

who are suffering from bullying and those who victimized other students. This would

help them learn what is bullying all about and what are its effects to other people and

the effects in their lives. Many of our students nowadays are being bullied and it is a big

burden to our society and our community. The problem is that bullying had been always

observed in the campus and many students are having a hard time to face it. Because

of this, many of our fellow students have dropped out of school, transferred into other

schools and some of them admitted to do suicide because of the big burden that affects

them.

As time goes by students are getting depressed and starts to have anxiety

problems. Bullying can also be one of the main reasons why many students today are

always absent and were never seen active in school activities. This problem grows

more dangerous as time goes by in many ways possible, such as physical, verbal and

cyber bullying. This research aims to provide guides for those who will study this and

this surely will give benefits. The researchers conducted survey will serve to the

students as a tool to think widely and critically about this cases which may cause a lot of

things to everyone who is suffering from it.

The results stated that many students experienced bullying and victimized others. We

also found out that some of them witnessed some incidence about this so called

bullying. Perhaps, it’s not just that they were informed about bullying but they also are

taking actions to stop it which encouraged some of them to attend seminars about

bullying. And so we’ve come to a conclusion that many students were aware of the

issue of bullying although some of them were bullies, it is a good thing that they have

admitted it. We are glad to know that even if they were being bullied in many ways they

keep on fighting and making an action to stop bullying at some point. This also means

that even bullying is a big problem still the students were fighting against it which is

good to know that they knew how to protect themselves from being bullied.

INTRODUCTION

Nowadays many individuals are suffering from Sadness, Depression, Anxiety and

Trauma caused by some painful and tragic events in their lives. But there is this issue

so called the “Bullying” that could also cause these conditions. And most of the

victims of Bullying are suffering due to its harmful effect through their well-being and

life. So we decided to conduct a Quantitative Research focusing about this issue.

Because these days many Individuals mostly students and teenagers are the most

prone to be bullied most of the time. And also to be able to monitor how many victims

there are in our Campus.

Bullying in the Philippines is widespread in schools and over the Internet, with

a study that states that about 50 percent of Pilipino Students are bullied particularly

here in Malabon. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 365,525. Also

there are many schools around the city. Particularly the Arellano University - Jose Rizal

High School which has a big population. And most of them are SHS Students and we

don’t know if many of them are suffering from Bullying in their daily life at present.

But first, let’s define “Bullying” Bullying means to use superior strength or influence

to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants. Bullying is

unwanted, aggressive behaviour among school aged children that involves a real or

perceived power imbalance. The behaviour is repeated, or has the potential to be

repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have  serious,

lasting problems. Bullying occurs when someone is being hurt either by Verbal, Physical

or Cyber on purpose, usually more than once, feels bad because of it, and has a hard

time stopping what is happening to them.Bullying can happen anywhere. It can occur in

your neighborhood, while going to school, at school, and while being online. And to add

that bullying can also be in media while using technology, like internet, email, cell

phones, social media, pictures just to hurt or harm someone else.

This research signifies all of the SHS Students of Arellano University Jose Rizal

High School. We have to know how many Students in our campus are suffering from

Bullying. And also for us to know what are some causes of bullying. And to provide us

more information about how bullying can affect our future society.

The purpose of this research aims not only to know the statistics and status of all the

SHS students of Arellano University, who suffered from bullying. Also for us to know

what are the harmful and inhumane effects of this not only in our school but in our

society and the future of all the victims of bullying these days. To be able to conduct a

demographic profile that will result to give us more updated information’s about bullying

in Senior High School in Arellano University. Not just for us to be informed, but for us to

make a better understanding of Bullying. For this is a major problem of our society

nowadays.

METHOD AND DESIGN

This part consists of the Method used, Research Design, The Respondents,

Sampling Techniques, Research Instrument, Data Gathering Process and the

Treatment of Data. This research is an experimental type of research. The researchers

make use of the Survey Forms as a Questionnaires Materials for the Students to

answer the given Questions. The researchers want to know if the Students are Being

Bullied Daily or bullying someone by their own choice.

This experimental type of research is a true experimental research. The target of

this research are the students that are having trouble about the issue of bullying in the

School or outside the School, and also Students who really are the ones that is Bullying

In this research, respondents were selected through the Simple Random sampling

(SRS). We chose 10 persons in each Section who answered the Questionnaire we’ve

had made. We statistically tallied the percentage of how many have answered based on

our Questions. The Result showed how many were being bullied or bullying in Senior

In other words the Senior High Students are well informed about bullying and some of

them admit that they’ve been bullied and also some of them are being honest about

being a bully.

Recommendation

Furthermore after the conduct of this research we recommend the following

1. Students who are experiencing bullying must seek the help of their advisers or

guidance counselors.

 Conduct a research for elementary students

 Consult a psychiatrist about the effects of bullying

 Search for the suicide rate of caused by bullying

 Study the other researchers work for more information about the case of bullying

and gather data from it.

 Make a guide on how to prevent being bullied and give a copy of it for the people

who’s going to be in your research

 I highly recommend that the students must fully understand the case of it with a

different method

 Copying our research project is highly prohibited
