FINAL PRODUCT - UNIT 1

● Title: Unit I - What has happened?


● Objectives:
- Sociocrítical
a. Standard 1: Students think critically and look for what they are learning
and why; they formulate purposes, goals and objectives which are clear
and reasonable.
b. Standard 2: Students think critically and look for a clear understanding
of the main question which they try to answer or problems they try to
solve. Students analyse and assess the use of questions in other’s
thoughts.
c. Standard 3: Students think critically, look for information which is
relevant to the questions, problems, issues that they are trying to solve.
Routinely, they verify, analyse and evaluate the accuracy of information
considering the important one.
- Communicative
a. Describe the practices and current environmental state in the country
and Latin America.
- Linguistic
a. Uses some simple structures correctly - past simple and present
perfect-, it is usually clear what he/she is trying to say.
b. Can use basic sentence patterns about environmental practices and
policies of one's country and in Latin America.

● Description:

Create a presentation in which you will describe human practices which have
affected positively or negatively the environment of the chosen country (actions
by tourism, professions, factories, homes, urban activities, farming activities).You will
present to the class what the country has or hasn’t done to improve the state of
mentioned aspects including the environmental policies which regulate them.

● Instructions

Exploration:

● Make groups of 3-4 people.


● Learn about Colombian (Geography- natural resources) environmental state and
changes before and during the pandemic. - in class, teacher directed.
● Choose one country of Latin America (Argentina,
Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador, El salvador, Peru, Haiti, Guatemala,
Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Panama).
● Look for information about the geography and natural resources of the chosen country.

● Search the positive and/or negative changes that the country has had before and
during the pandemic. - at least one per student.
● Identify the environmental practices (positive or negative) by tourism, factories,
profession, homes, urban activities, farming activities of the country you chose and the
policies that regulate them. - number depending of the country. - SEE THE ANNEX.
● Divide the previous actions between the people of the group.

How to organize the presentation:

● Create the presentation including real images of the changes - before and during the
pandemic.
● Describe the policies done - cite the references.
● Include the following chart at the end of the presentation:

Tourism What has happened? Do they exist?

Factories

● Tell if the practices and policies are relevant or not to the commonwealth of the
environment.

● Prepare for questions that may arise at the end of the presentation.

● Special requirements

● Minimum time of presentation: 3 minutes.


● Maximum time of presentation: 5 minutes.
● The presentation must be presented during the next class.
