Problems with management

Poor management can affect employees and a company’s overall operations. One
reason that can lead to poor management is ineffective planning. It is when the schedule that
the team members or employees are supposed to follow were not set out and could lead to
project disputes in terms of slow productivity or production delay (Jaffar, Tharim and Shuib,
2011). In addition, uncertainty in decision-making could also affect the flow of production.
Managers that lack self-awareness about how they are forming their decisions could affect the
employees’ productivity and progression, which may be conflicting and may result to slow
production process. (Lipkin, 2017)

Problems that may occur on manpower

An effective time management at work could enhance an employee’s performance, help
them achieve the desired goals within the given time and strike a better work-life balance.
Individuals who are skilled in time management use their time efficiently and effectively,
valuing the time they have. When their efforts are concentrated on the highest priorities, more
work is done in less time, thus enabling these workers to attend to a broader range of activities.
However, individuals who are not skilled in time management were disorganized and tend to
waste time and resources, resulting to inefficient workflow and low work quality. As the work
force decreases, the workload remains the same or, in most cases, increases, thus may result to
the delay or slow production (Thomack, 2012)

Problems that may occur on raw material quality and supply

The quality of raw materials have a direct effect on the quality of a business's finished product.
It is important to source supplies of a high standard or it may cause an effect to your finished product
and your customer satisfaction. The rapidly rising cost of raw materials in the manufacturing industries
has proven to be a challenging combination for both producers, suppliers, and consumers. A higher cost
of a raw material could also lead to a higher cost of production in terms of the cost of labor, and taxes,
fees for shipping, etc. With the increased pricing of the raw material and production, the demand would
start moderating or even decrease for most of the customers or consumers were reluctant to spend
much money and tend to buy the similar product but with lower price.
In a garment industry, maintaining the good level of quality is important to get increased sales,
increased value of the product or service, establish brand name among customers, and build up the
reputation of the garment exporter. In this industry, quality control is practiced right from the initial
stage of sourcing raw materials to the stage of final finished garment. Any defects found on raw
materials such as fibres, yarns, or fabrics, could lead to a defective apparel or clothing, and poor quality
of the product which affects the level of satisfaction of the customers. Poor quality of materials that
contains minor and major defects can also be the cause of the delay of production.
Delayed transportation of raw materials to the manufacturers could affect and cause a delay in
production of the products. There are several factors that causes this delay; some of the raw materials
were imported from another country and is experiencing a high demand that may result to shortage and
late arrival of the materials (Rahman et al., 2017). Natural disasters may also occur such as floods, that
affect the transportation of the raw materials. With this, slow production may occur.
Problems that may occur on equipments and machineries
An equipment that is in a good condition would operate 100% of the time at 100% capacity that
produces an output of 100% good quality. However, equipment failures and machinery malfunctions
could not be avoided in a manufacturing industry. This could lead to several problems such as high spare
parts inventory cost, high overtime labor costs, high machine downtime, and low production availability
and even the quality of the products. Machine failures can lead to a breakdown situation where the
machines will be unable to perform any further according to the operational specifications. Some
machine failures might be even critical to safety and cause very harmful accidents [ CITATION Ahm18 \l
13321 ]. It would take time for the manufacturer to increase the production capacity and may delay
other production operations as well.
