NARRATIVE REPORT ON KUMUSTAHAN FOR GRADE 7 STUDENTS AND PARENTS

The KUMUSTAHAN activity for grade 7 students and parents aims to

hear the voices of our clients as to how they are dealing with the
modular distance learning and to attend on their queries/concerns so we
can give better service to them. The activity was announced a week
before to give ample time for teachers to disseminate the information
through messenger, facebook group page and during retrieval day. The
advisers added the facebook account of parents and students in the
group page where the Kumustahan Activity will be live streamed via streamyard.

It was attended by about 80 or 41% students or parents, grade 7

teachers and our schoolhead. In the part I of the program,teachers
were introduced as well as the advisers of each sections( Mr.
Estomo,Mr.Velasco,Ms.Cusit,Ms. Bactol,Ms.
Oraye,Ms.Escamillas,Mrs.Valencia. Ms. Anna Celeste Balagot,Esp 7
Teacher talked about Home room Guidance, she explained its importance
and when and where to submit. The expected performance tasks for each learning
area was also presented, it highlighted the merging of tasks across subject areas to lessen the
workload of students.

Part II was the Kumustahan session, they were asked if they are
ready for the face to face classes and most of them answered YES
though few of them said it depends on standard health protocol.
Another was what are the advantages and disadvantages of modular
distance learning based on their experiences, some said “ Ang hirap
kasi walang nagtuturo”, “ lagi kaming inuutusan,di na alam uunahin”,
“ na stress na kami sa pagpapasagot sa anak namin” , “
para kaming bumabalik sa pag aaral” on the positive side
“ Natuto kami sa sarili lang namin” , “ mas ligtas ang mga
anak namin sa virus”,” kahit nasa bahay lang natuto pa
din”, “mas maraming bonding sa family”. Parents/students
were also given chance to give suggestions to improve the
modular distance learning process. Most of them
suggested to give videos explaining the lessons. In response
to that, teachers will be giving youtube link or videos of
the lessons in the facebook page. They were also advised
to follow the weeklyhome learning plan to make the modular learning less burdensome. Advisers also
grabbed the chance to remind the parents about the submission of pertinent documents of their
child.
