1. SCOPE OF WORK:

The work involves furnishing and installation of a complete operable Power MEDIUM
VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR as shown on the drawings and that of the project technical
specifications.

2. PURPOSE:

To achieve an acceptable quality of work in accordance with the prevailing standards as


specified in the approved shop drawings and technical specifications in ensuring the
continuity of a power supply to the respective area as shown in the approved Single line
diagram of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
6.1 The Project Engineer

Shall direct when and where to start furnishing and installation of MEDIUM VOLTAGE
SWITCHGEAR
And establish deadlines for activity to be finished. He shall make sure that furnishing
and installation of MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR shall be finished with-in the time
frame set

Forth in the construction schedule.

6.2 The Electrical Engineer

Shall be responsible for the installation of MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR in


accordance with the approved shop drawings and that of the project technical
specifications.

6.3 The Quality Control Engineer

Shall confirm the materials delivered at site and prepare the MIR (Material's Inspection
request) for approval by the Engineer prior to utilization at site. Likewise, in charge of
the preparation of the RFI (Request for Inspection) for each stages of Activity.
Shall also monitor and periodically inspect all the installation of MEDIUM VOLTAGE
SWITCHGEAR
At all times to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings and that of the Project
Technical Specifications. Likewise, make sure that all the materials to be used for this
particular.
Scope of work are that of the approved type and must be complying with the
approved submittal

6.4 The Safety Officer

Shall make sure that Health and Safety of the Workers is taken into consideration at all
times.

6.5 The Installer

Shall be responsible for the installation of MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHGEARas per


details in the approved shop drawings and that of the Project Technical Specifications
(specs + MTR). The installer shall be recommended and authorized by the Manufacturer
and as approved by the Engineer.

7. PROCEDURE:

Storage & Handling Procedure:

 Verify the compliance of the MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR with


applicable standards,
Project specifications (specs + MTR) and material submittal.
 Identification procedures shall be implemented for all items.
 Identification of an item shall be done by using tags, stamps, labels.
The location and method of identification shall not affect the function or
quality of the material.
 Storage shall be free of water & egress, in a proper sheltered area & as
per manufacturer recommendation.
 While transport of equipment, man handling shall be cautious in order
to avoid damages.
 Traceability shall be maintained on equipment.
 Documents and records shall enable the equipment to be traced throughout
storage, erection, installation, repair, modification and use

The following specified procedure for furnishing and installation of MEDIUM VOLTAGE
SWITCHGEAR for all the equipment and various metal components inside the building
connected to the outside grounding system shall serve as a guide or reference by the
EE along the course of their work in order to achieve an acceptable quality of
workmanship, and at the same time to control materials utilization but attaining the
optimum results with Less time and effort:

The following activities shall be implemented:

7.1 Installation:

 MEDIUM VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR shall be installed, including connections,


where and as indicated on drawings and as specified the project technical
specification and in accordance with approved shop drawings and
manufacturers printed instructions.
7.2 Test:

 The completed installation shall be tested for compliance with the specification
(specs + MTR) following completion of all site work. Testing shall be conducted
by the representatives of the manufacturer. The Engineer shall be notified in
advance and certified copies of test procedures and results shall be forwarded
to the Engineer. Field, inspection and testing will be performed under provisions
of contract preliminaries.
 Check for damage and tight connections prior to energizing the Medium
Voltage Switchgear

8. QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL:

DESCRIPTION OF WORK IN-CHARGE


The QA/QC Manager will monitor and ensure that this QA/QC Manager,
Method Statement shall be strictly enforced so that
smooth Work Flow will be attained.
Furthermore, the QA/QC Team shall ensure that each

In addition, the Materials and equipment together with QCE, EE


method of installation shall comply in all respects with
the standard international codes:
SASO 334 IEC 60076-1 to 5 IEC 60354 NFPA70
Manufacturer's Qualifications shall be offered for
approval to the Engineer. The firm shall be regularly
engaged in manufacture of MEDIUM VOLTAGE
SWITCHGEAR units and ancillary equipment, of types,
ratings and characteristics required, whose products
have been in satisfactory use in similar service for not
less than 5years. Manufacturer shall be subject for
approval of the Engineer.

Likewise, installer qualifications shall be offered for


approval to the Engineer. The firm should have
successful installation experience on projects similar
to that required for this project, and shall be
authorized by the manufacturer.

9. HEALTH SAFETY & SECURITY:


DESCRIPTION OF WORK IN-CHARGE

The Safety Officer of the contractor and the Electrical


SO,EE, QCE
Engineer shall work Together in the prevention of any
work related accidents in the job site.

The following safety requirements must always be SO, EE,


observed and adhered in the QCE
site at all times:
 All personal protective equipment shall be used as
appropriate according to the nature of the different
jobs involved.
 Only competent tradesmen shall perform the work.
 Only authorized persons are allowed to operate the
system if necessary.
 d. Housekeeping shall always be observed at all times
and all off-cuts and spills, rubbish, etc. shall be removed
and cleaned on or during and after the work.
